Two vessels believed to be carrying up to 64 Moroccan illegal immigrants have been reported missing in the Mediterranean since Thursday, Spanish rescue services said Saturday.
Spain has sent a plane, two helicopters and two tugs to the area where they are believed to have disappeared.
The alert was given by relatives who have been without news of the would-be immigrants since they left Nagor, northeast Morocco, heading for Spain on Thursday.
They fear the two vessels ran out of fuel at sea -- ALMEIRA, Spain (AFP)
