The space shuttle Discovery safely landed at California's Edwards Air-Force base at approximately 5 PM local California time in the United States after two weeks in space.
The craft had been scheduled to land in the state of Florida, at the Kennedy Sapce Center, but due to weather concerns, the landing site was changed.
Discovery's seven crew members were part of the first space shuttle mission since 2003, when the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated upon entering the earth's atmosphere, killing all seven crew members.
The shuttle was greeted by approximately 40 cheering fans, who had apparently waited all night to watch the landing.
Due to the continuous orbit of the shuttle over the earth, Discovery experienced 219 sunsets over the course of the 14 day mission.
