Sony Ericsson is the SmartPhone Manufacturer of the Year Award according to PC Magazine, the leading ICT publication in the Middle East. The citation was announced during the annual PC Magazine Middle and Near East Awards Ceremony

“We are proud to receive this award from PC Magazine,” said Husni Al-Assi, General Manager of Sony Ericsson, Middle East and Africa. “We at Sony Ericsson have always maintained high standards for product quality and innovation and this honour attests to that.”

The P910i is Sony Ericsson’s flagship product in SmartPhone category. Since it launched, the P910i has been a favourite among users who prefer mobile phones that efficiently combines PDA-style functionality with advanced mobile phone technology.

PC Magazine cited the Sony Ericsson P910i with the Best Performer and Editor's Choice Awards for having the most preferred features such as Triband GSM, MP3 playback, MPEG4 video playback, standard office application suite, PDF viewer, email client, web browser, among others.

The P910i also features a VGA resolution camera. It's 3.2-inch LCD screen, while not the largest, is of exceptional quality. The mobile had two levels of data inputs and a full QWERTY keypad. It even had a touch screen for PDA functionality. The best performer award was also awarded to Sony Ericsson P910i because of its excellent speaker quality and an exceptional battery life which was rated at 3 times the average smart phone.

"The P910i surpassed all competition based on the criteria we set. Because of its excellent features and functionality, it surpassed all 10 SmartPhones from 7 brands that we reviewed," said Shravan Manral, Technical Editor, PC Magazine Middle East.

The Sony Ericsson P910i has the widest variety of input methods including keyboard, natural handwriting and T9, so that users can choose the most convenient way to access the phone’s many functions.

For example, its email manager can be synchronised with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes, and can handle attachments including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. With a range of connectivity options including Bluetooth™, the P910i provides an excellent platform for working (and playing) on the move.

Each year, PC Magazine holds an awards ceremony honouring the best and the brightest products in the ICT industry.

“Sony Ericsson will continue to push the boundaries of technology, style and functionality in the highly competitive SmartPhone category. This award serves as an inspiration to us to continue our quest for product excellence and customer delight,” ended Al-Assi.
