At least seven people were wounded, three of them seriously, by an explosion at a bus stop near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Thursday, police and ambulance workers said.
Police said the blast, which occurred at around 10 a.m., also destroyed a pick-up truck parked at the Pirwadahi bus stand on the outskirts of the city.
Witnesses said they heard a loud explosion and saw dust rising from where the vehicle was parked. Later the pick-up truck caught fire, they said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast, which the police said was caused by a small explosive device.
There have been bomb attacks in several Pakistani towns and cities in recent years although no group or individual has claimed responsibility.
In September a bomb ripped through a busy fruit market near Islamabad killing 15 people and wounding about 75.
Pakistani authorities often blame such explosions on intelligence agents from rival India. India often blames Pakistani agents for blasts in India.
Pakistan, which served as the main arms conduit to Afghans fighting the Soviet occupation of their country in the 1980's, is awash in weapons and explosives -- ISLAMABAD (Reuters)
