Revenues of the Port of Beirut fell by about 10 percent between January and October this year compared to the same period last year, the Daily Star reported Wednesday.
The fall in revenue which includes Customs, port, and harbor charges according to the paper was dropped to $908 million.
A 26 percent fall in car imports was largely to blame for the decrease, it said, adding that just 17,600 new and used cars were imported through Beirut as the ports of Tripoli and Tire increased in importance for handling second-hand cars -- Albawaba.com
