Skywards, the award-winning frequent flyer programme of Emirates and SriLankan Airlines, has forged a unique partnership with UNICEF, the United Nation’s Children’s Fund.

UNICEF was chosen by Skywards from among a number of humanitarian organisations which operate on a global scale.

To date, UNICEF has received 7,907,500 Miles – one million Miles from Skywards and the remainder from donations by Skywards members - equivalent to 112 return Economy Class flights between Dubai and UNICEF’s New York headquarters.

The Skywards Miles are exchanged for flights to transport volunteers, aid workers and medical personnel to places where they can help those in need.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates’ Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: “Emirates is committed to doing business in a socially responsible way, and we are pleased that with these donations, Skywards and its members are able to assist in UNICEF’s outstanding humanitarian work across the globe.”
