A roadside bomb in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa killed at least 16 government troops late Sunday, according to Reuters.

Six soldiers were also wounded following the explosion close to army barracks in Marib while it still remains unclear who carried out the attack.

The Yemen conflict has seen thousands killed since Shia Houthis backed by Iran gained control of parts of the country despite Saudi-led airstrikes against the group.
