ALBAWABA - At least eight Israeli armed forces were injured in a shooting attack that occurred in the Tayasir area east of Jenin, Tuesday morning, Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed.

Two of the eight soldiers are in a critical case, Magen David Adom (MDA) noted.

The Jerusalem Post first reported that the attacker, who was killed by Israeli forces, opened fire against a group of Israelis, wounding eight.

MDA confirmed that medical teams arrived at the scene and are treating the wounded. In addition, helicopters were dispatched to evacuate the soldiers to hospitals.

This comes after Israel's announcement that it will send a team to Qatar by the weekend to start talks on the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahusaid on Tuesday morning.

The announcement came after the meeting between Netanyahu and U.S. Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff in Washington.
