Sharjah Economic Development began training staff on new state-of-the art

Sharjah Economic Development Department recently announced that they are to begin the experimental stage of its new automated licensing issuing system. As a step aimed at facilitating and improving procedures with the use of modern technology, the new system is expected to save the time and the effort of staff in the data entry of transactions and the ease of data retrieval licenses.

The new procedure will allow for each department to be electronically linked on a network via the internet to all its branches and departments. This system will eventually allow investors to complete their application process, calculation and fee payment online.

"Sharjah Economic Development Department is eager to develop new systems and procedures that focus on customer satisfaction and the streamlining of procedures that will fulfill their needs. What we have developed here will facilitate all applications directly and with ease. Since our signing with "Bahwan Company" we have worked on fulfilling all the needs and requests of the authorities and departments in creating a service where all authorities and departments can be linked; whether they be commercial or domestic." said Mr. Ali bin Salem Al Mahmoud, director-general of the Sharjah Economic Development Department .

"Bahwan worked on developing the new system in which all our employees have now been trained. We anticipate beginning working with this system after six months, where we will be able to process and complete the large number applications we receive very quickly. In order to effectively facilitate procedures, transactions and licensing business in Sharjah, we are aware that achievements which have been born out of a need to continuously evolve, should not be limited to just the development of strategies, but also their implementation." he added.

"The quick implementation of this system demonstrates our commitment to delivering the best services to all our clients and we will continue to develop and encourage such positive initiatives that contribute in consolidating the success of the department. We have established a special training center to train all the department employees to work on the new system and on training sessions related to technical and administrative techniques that answer the needs of both employees and trainees as well", mentioned Al Mahmoud.

He added that one of the main objectives of the service is to enable the Sharjah Economic Development Department staff to continuously deliver a high level of customer satisfaction.
