A Chinese-Arab investment forum is scheduled to be held in China September 8-12 with the participation of delegations from seven Arab countries, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA, on Tuesday.
An official source at the Kuwait-based Inter-Arab Investment Guarantee Corp. told the agency that the forum aimed to develop direct investments between China and Arab countries.
The IIGC is taking part in the business gathering.
According to the agency, the event is organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League in coordination with the concerned Chinese authorities.
The official said that 18 Arab countries had trade ties with Beijing now, with a value of $100 million, in comparison to only six countries in 1998.
An Arab delegation that includes representatives from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan and Yemen will participate in the forum, said the report – Albawaba.com
