ALBAWABA- US authorities received intelligence of a plot by Iran to assassinate former President Donald Trump, prompting the Secret Service to bolster security around him.

The intelligence, obtained from a human source, led to heightened measures before a rally in Pennsylvania, where Trump was shot at by Thomas Matthew Crooks, who has no known connection to the Iranian plot.

Questions arise about security lapses at the rally and how the shooter accessed a rooftop. The Secret Service and the Trump campaign were briefed beforehand, and security resources were surged in response.
