ALBAWABA - A seaplane carrying European tourists crashed into the ocean off Western Australia leaving three killed, according to Australian authorities. 

On Wednesday, officials in Australia said that four others survived the accident in which a seaplane plunged into the ocean moments after taking off from Rottnest Island, AFP reported Wednesday.

Premier of Western Australia, Roger Cook, told media that three were killed in the crash while four others survived. He said: "Three lives were lost when a seaplane crashed moments after takeoff."

AFP revealed that a 65-year-old Swiss woman and a 60-year-old man from Denmark were killed along with the Australian pilot.

Meanwhile, a 63-year-old Swiss man and a 58-year-old Danish woman in addition to an Australian couple in their 60s were saved by rescue teams.

A video was shared online showing the moment when the seaplane plunged into the ocean.
