The virtuosic Cameroonian saxophonist Manu Dibango has recently performed in Essaouira. The concert was held in the framework of the handing-over of awards ceremony to the winners of Aicha Gazelles tournament.

EMarrakech reports that the ceremony and the concert were attended by hundreds of fans as well as by a number of politicians, intellectuals and leading figures from the Moroccan world of arts and culture.

Dibango, for whom this is his 20th visit to Morocco, presented a variety of music styles, including jazz and modern music as well as traditional African music. "I have made music for 50 years," he said, "and now at the age of 71 I can still continue to do what I always loved doing. I wish all young people to follow their passion: music, art and sport, until they reach their goal."
