In a recent update to the British Royal Family’s official website, the individual biographies of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have been consolidated into a single profile.

This change reflects the couple’s decision to step back as working members of the Royal Family, announced in January 2020.

Previously, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had separate bios on the Royal.UK site, which serves as a virtual home for information and updates on the modern monarchy. However, as of Monday, their individual bios have been merged, and the page now begins with a statement about their step back from royal duties. The couple’s marriage in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on May 19, 2018, and their two children, Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex, are highlighted in the new joint profile.

The updated section breaks down their biographies under the headings “About the Duke of Sussex” and “About the Duchess of Sussex,” recapping Prince Harry’s decade of service in the British Army and the establishment of the Invictus Games, alongside Meghan’s seven seasons on Suits and her lifestyle blog, The Tig.

In line with the refresh, the new shared bio directs readers to the couple’s official website, sussex.com, for current information about their work. This move comes alongside the launch of their new website, which features a log of their latest endeavors, biographies, and links to their Archewell Foundation organization and Archewell Productions hub.

The removal of their individual bios from the Royal Family website signifies a further step in the couple’s journey to carve out their own path, separate from the traditional roles and responsibilities of the British monarchy.
