Syrian Interior Minister Bassam Abdul-Majeed will hold a press conference at 10 a.m on Tuesday to announce results of the referendum on a new constitutional term for President Bashar al-Assad. Originally, the results were to be declared on Monday.
Meanwhile, interior minister said on Monday the turnout was "unprecedented." "The Syrian people spoke out yesterday. Participation in the referendum was enormous, never before seen in the country's history," Abdul-Majeed said in remarks carried by the press. He gave no figures.
