Ugandan security officials have seized the registration documents of a firm thought to have links with Osama bin Laden, the prime suspect behind the terrorist attacks in the US, a press report said Thursday.
The New Vision, quoting unspecified sources, said that security agents from State House, President Yoweri Museveni's official residence, on Wednesday went to offices of the registrar of companies and seized documents related to a company known as Taba.
Taba is reportedly the locally incorporated subsidiary of Taba Investments of Saudi Arabia, in which the Saudi dissident bin Laden is said to have a stake, the state-owned newspaper reported.
The company is reported to have been registered here in February, has four foreign directors and was authorized to transact business related to investment financing.
The newspaper added that the lawyer who reportedly handled Taba's local incorporation is not listed as a member of the Ugandan Law Society -- KAMPALA (AFP)
