ALBAWABA - Italian luxury fashion house Prada recently made headlines after appointing Palestinian singer-songwriter Saint Levant as global ambassador.

On June 24, Prada took to social media with a post featuring Saint Levant and wrote, "Prada Ambassador Saint Levant attends the Prada Spring/Summer 2027 Menswear Fashion Show in Milan, at Fondazione Prada’s Deposito."

The singer wore a slick all-black suit; however, one thing stood out the most. Fans noticed that the Saint Levant was wearing a Palestine map pendant to represent his Palestinian roots. While the pendant received praise among pro-Palestine activists, many Israeli social media users have voiced their anger over the necklace.

One Israeli social media user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I’m all for representation of Palestinians, but Prada posting a video to their 33M+ followers of their new “Palestinian ambassador” Saint Levant wearing a necklace shaped like the entire land with Israel erased, that’s a message."

They added, "If an Israeli, or any Jew, wore a pendant that included Gaza, the outrage would be instant. But erasing Israel, “from the river to the sea,” gets a luxury campaign."

Another social media user responded and wrote, "Yeah, it should. What are you gonna do about it? Have Saint Levant and his entire extended family doxxed, maimed and killed too? Zionists stay tweaking over the reality that Palestine is under occupation from the river to the sea."

25-year-old Marwan Abdelhamid went viral in 2022 for his song "Very Few Friends" and has since cultivated a cult fan base worldwide. The singer and songwriter has also toured across the globe.
