A former senior director of a South Korean government financial watchdog suspected in a major corruption scandal committed suicide on Tuesday, a report said.
Chang Rae-Chan, an ex-director general of the powerful Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), was found dead at an inn in Seoul, the Yonhap News Agency said.
The FSS official had been wanted for questioning since the corruption scandal erupted last week. FSS officials are suspected of taking bribes from a failed venture businessman and a private financier seeking favors -- SEOUL (AFP)
