Iran has successfully test-fired its domestically made solid-fuelled missile, said Iran’s official news agency (IRNA).

The surface-to-surface rocket could be guided to destroy its targets with high accuracy.

The Fateh (Victorious) 110 has been planned and produced totally by the Iran's experts at the army headquarters for Iran's military self-sufficiency, said the agency.

It said the new missile enjoys a high precision in destroying its targets and is regarded as one of the most effective weapons of the Islamic Republic's armed forces, it added.

Iran has started a comprehensive campaign to produce and promote conventional arms for its defensive use, after the country was slapped with crippling sanctions during the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war – Albawaba.com
