US President George W. Bush has sent a written letter to Sudan's President Omar Bashir on the occasion of his victory in the presidential elections last December, diplomatic sources were quoted by Kuwait's News Agency (KUNA) as saying Thursday.
The sources considered the letter to be a new step in the track of pushing forward dialogue in light of the new US administration.
In his letter, Bush expressed his confidence that joint dialogue and exchanged respect will overcome all the challenges that currently hinder the development of the US-Sudanese relations, the sources told the agency.
The United States in December announced that it would have a permanent diplomatic presence in of Khartoum.
It also promised to continue dialogue with the Sudanese authorities, with the intention of resolving the differences between the two countries, said press reports -- Albawaba.com
