IQPC to host first global defence symposium in Abu Dhabi - NATO, US and UK experts to explore dynamics of modern conflict
The world’s leading defence experts will gather in Abu Dhabi in January 2008 to debate the ever-increasing pressures placed on armed forces in global combat zones.
Senior personnel from the US armed forces, the UK Army, NATO, and the European Armed Forces will be attending Defence Logistics Middle East, a conference organised by IQPC, the global business intelligence company, which recently launched its Middle East operations in the UAE.
Defence Logistics Middle East 2008 will take place at the Armed Forces Officer’s Club in Abu Dhabi on January 21-23 2008 in a strategic partnership with Jane’s, the world’s leading defence publication.
Hugh James Director of Defence Logistics, IQPC commented: “With a world-class speaker panel and programme developed in collaboration with global military logistics leaders, the event will provide exclusive case studies that will give practical solutions to drive efficiency into defence logistics.”
Technology in modern warfare is advancing at lightning speed and governments around the world need to be at the forefront to maintain strategic advantage. Defence Logistics Middle East will deliver a global perspective, focusing on cutting edge military logistics and maximising regional defence budgets.
The international symposium will be convened to solve the most pressing military logistics challenges, namely how to create a seamless joint logistics process and increase supply chain visibility to improve strategic reaction time.
Topics under discussion include improving reaction time and fast operational deployment through an integrated logistics system; enabling an effective information management process; achieving total visibility and interoperability; revolutionising military medical logistics and assessing cutting edge technology solutions.
Speakers at the event include Ambassador Dr Fred Tanner, Director of the Geneva Center for Security Policy, Bruno Cantin NATO’s Head of Logistics Defence Planning and Policy Division, Vice Admiral Ann Rondeau Deputy Commander, USTRANSCOM and Major General Alan Hawley OBE Director General Army Medical Service at the UK MoD.
