At least 33 civilians, including eight children and two women, were killed on Wednesday, after Syrian regime forces shelled a number of towns and villages under the control of the opposition.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that Assad forces used explosive-filled barrels and mortars during the attacks.
“21 civilians were killed in Aleppo, five in Daraa, four in the countryside of Damascus, two in Homs and one person in Latakia,” SNHR said.
According to the UN, more than 220,000 people have been killed in Syria since the conflict began in 2011 between pro-regime forces and armed opposition groups.
