An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale rocked the Mahelma area near the capital Algiers Wednesday, the Algerian Center for Astrophysical and Geophysical Research reported Thursday.
The quake, early Wednesday morning, caused no damage or injuries, the center said.
Last month three people died and dozens were injured in a quake in Beni Ouartilane, 80 kilometers (50 miles) southeast of Algiers -- ALGIERS (AFP)
