The leader of one of the country's opposition parties, died when a earthquake-damaged building collapsed in the Azerbaijani capital Baku on Friday, officials said.
Earlier reports had said that two other people also died in the accident.
Zakir Mammedov, chairman of the Liberal-Democratic party, was killed when a four-story building collapsed in the capital's center at around noon (0800 GMT), local police officials reported.
The building was damaged and had been evacuated after a 6.5-point earthquake struck the capital at the end of November. Thirty-one other people, also died during the tremor, most from stress -- BAKU (AFP)
