Renowned British journalist Steven O'Hugues passed away on Monday June 27 at the age of 81. <i>E-marrakech</i> reports that Mr. O'Hugues was hospitalized in the private clinic of the United Nations in Rabat following cardiopulmonary complications he had.
Senior foreign journalist stationed in Morocco and chair of the foreign press association, O'Hugues, had been living in Morocco for almost half a century. He was also the author of the book “Morocco under King Hassan”, which was published in 2001. The Moroccan Journalist Ali Bouzerda said that Steven O'Hugues was an objective and independent observer of contemporary Moroccan history”.
