Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Larijani stated on Saturday that Iran is not after buying time for its nuclear dossier and is fully determined to solve its nuclear standoff right away.
Speaking to IRNA after his talks with the EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, he said "We are determined to solve Iran's nuclear dossier today. We do not need to kill time because the country has obtained its nuclear capacity and is ready to reach agreement through constructive talks."
"We hope the issue will be resolved as soon as possible and we call for establishment of calm relationship and this is in the interest of both sides," he conveyed.
In case there is a will for resolving the issue, it will be resolved very promptly, he noted.
This round of negotiations was better than the previous ones, he said, adding that "I feel that Solana was doing his best to reach an agreement which is a good path but any judgment to this end should be left for the future," he underlined.
"In my opinion, the Madrid negotiation was a step towards resolving Iran's nuclear issue," he said. The key point in this round of negotiations was that all issues were brought up very clearly and there was no ambiguity, Larijani said.
