Calls for further political reforms in Egypt intensify. On Thursday, a group named Kefaya (Enough) threatened said it would seek justice outside Egypt over the violence at Cairo rallies last week if the culprits go unpunished.
Speaking to journalists, the leader of the group, George Isaac said "We want all those responsible in the (ruling) National Democratic Party (NDP) to be taken to justice. If Egypt's justice doesn't protect and defend us, we will go to the world court." Kefaya said its activists and journalists were attacked, while women were sexually assaulted, by NDP supporters at rallies against a May 25 referendum on constitutional reform.
On Wednesday, US President George W Bush asked Egypt to set an example for other Middle East nations by holding free and fair elections in September. In a telephone call to President Hosni Mubarak, Bush urged him to hold free and fair polls because it will be a great legacy for his country.
