Prince Michael of Kent recently visited The Jumeirah Primary School (JPS) in Jumeirah. Part of the GEMS’ network of schools, JPS provides students with state-of-the-art ICT facilities, among a range of other premium facilities.
The visitor was given a grand reception by the House Captains and staff and was taken on a tour of the school to experience the range of facilities offered at JPS. The well equipped ICT rooms were the focus of attention for HRH as he has a special interest in ICT.
While talking to some of the students and the staff at JPS, Prince Michael said: “I am indeed thrilled to be here today. My chief reason for being here is to meet the students. I have a special interest in ICT and wanted to experience first hand the excellent facilities at JPS. The students here are exceptionally well behaved and beautifully disciplined. They have also displayed such enthusiasm – it is very fulfilling. I understand that the parents work very closely with the school and they take an active part in the development of their children. This is good as it supplements the work of the school and is encouraging for the students and teachers. I wish the staff and the students every success for the future.”
JPS teaches the British National Curriculum for England and is one of several GEMS Schools providing high quality British education in the region and in the UK.
“At GEMS each child is a GEM – unique and precious. We recognize that each child can reach his/her potential if they are provided with a rich, varied and high quality educational programme. Provision of cutting edge facilities across the schools, creates opportunities for students to develop key skills needed to lead in a dynamic society.” says Hugh MacPherson Chief Operating Officer at GEMS.
