Preliminary Meeting for Arab, Muslim FMs to Draft Initiative on Intifada

Algerian Foreign Minister Abdel Aziz Belkhadem has revealed that the foreign ministers of the Arab and Islamic countries have decided to meet one day before their official meeting scheduled for November 9-10 to “discuss the situation in occupied Palestine and the latest developments regarding the Aqsa Intifada, to come up with a joint initiative aimed at supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.” 

In a statement to Albawaba.com, Belkhadem confirmed that Algerian President Abdel Aziz Bouteflika will take part in the upcoming summit of the Organization of Islamic Conference that will follow the foreign ministers’ meeting. He added that his country will “work to maintain Islamic unity in the face of the deteriorating situation in the Arab and Islamic worlds."
