US Secretary of State Colin Powell left Jordan for France Friday after talks with King Abdullah II on consolidating the fragile Israel-Palestinians truce and on revising UN sanctions against Iraq, officials were quoted as saying.
Powell is to have a brief meeting in Paris with Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah, who is often critical of US policies and its “bias to Israel.”
Prince Abdullah will head to France on a private visit and then go to Egypt upon an official invitation.
Powell arrived in Amman from Tel Aviv earlier Friday for a brief visit after setting a week-long test period for a US-brokered truce in meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. His scheduled meetings with Palestinian and Israeli officials were called off – Albawaba.com
