U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell denied Sunday rumors he was considering resigning, saying he wasn't "weeping in my beer" over a split within the Bush administration over how to handle the Middle East crisis.

"I am in no way thinking about resigning. I am not frustrated to the point that I'm weeping in my beer or hiding in my family room," Powell told "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert, when asked about a reported rivalry with Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld.

Powell confirmed, however, that disagreements with unnamed others have cropped up.

"Are there battles from time to time within an administration? Of course there are. When you have people with strongly held views, you can expect to have these kinds of disagreements from time to time."

But instead of elaborating on the internal disagreements, Powell offered up a more unified image.

"I am pleased with the relationship I have with my colleagues within the administration and with the president," he insisted.

When Russert asked if Powell was "perfectly content" in his job, he replied, "Do you see me look other than content this morning?" (Albawaba.com)
