A police helicopter has crashed in the northwestern part of Iran, killing the pilot and injuring six top police commanders, state-run Tehran radio reported Tuesday, cited by the Saudi Press Agency.
The crash took place Monday morning in the suburb of Urumieh, close to the Iranian border with Turkey, according to the radio report. It said pilot Col. Afshar Gholizadeh was killed and six other police officials, including a senior provincial police commander, were injured.
The six were reported to be in stable condition, the radio added. (Albawaba.com)
