Iranian police have arrested 30 people to quell an armed tribal clash which left three injured in the western province of Lorestan, reported the official Iranian news agency, IRNA, on Wednesday.
Witnesses said that a two-hour clash broke out between several families from the village of Kheshtianak and others from Qaed-Taher, in which firearms, clubs, knives, swords, brass knuckle and stones were used.
"Police were dispatched to the scene instantly and shot into the air, which sparked panic among the residents," they said.
A local security official told IRNA that eleven of the detainees were from Qaed Taher and the rest from Kheshtianak.
"The motive behind the clash was previous differences and also misunderstandings...over drug trafficking," he added – Albawaba.com
