A plane flying from Panama to Martinique crashed over Venezuela on Tuesday killing all 160 passengers on board.
The crash was the second air disaster for the Colombia-based airline this year, and considered the worst in Martinique's history, according to Reuters.
The small Caribbean island, a French possession, has only 430,000 inhabitants.
Most of the passengers were local government officials in Martinique who had been on vacation with their families.
