Philippines Exports to UAE up by 18 Percent

Exports from the Philippines to the UAE increased by 18.41 percent in the first six months of the current year, Emirate's news agency (WAM) reported Saturday. 

Total exports from the Philippines to the UAE touched over Dh 129 million during January to June, against Dh 109 million in the corresponding period in 1999, M Quiniquini, the Philippine commercial attaché in Dubai, was quoted by the agency as saying. 

According to WAM, a press statement indicated that the exports of Philippines garments to the UAE went up by 61.34 percent, while that of television receivers was up by 40.39 percent. Tires, auto parts and accessories registered a 26.56 percent increase in exports, video games 100 percent, electronic data processing equipment 183 percent, housewares 88.17 percent and furniture 45.65 percent. Exports of holiday decors was up 94.74 percent, fashion accessories 86.8 percent and meat and meat products 187.57 percent - Albawaba.com
