A man has been arrested in Serbia carrying a passport with the same details as the one found on the body of one of the suicide bombers at Paris' Stade de France, the Independent reports.
The passport contained all the same personal details but with different photographs, suggesting that both passports are almost certainly fake.
According to the Serbian daily Blic, “it is likely that the two men separately purchased false Syrian passports at the same forger in Turkey”.
French authorities will now need to identify the attacker by his fingerprints.
Since the discovery, serious concerns have been raised that the passport was planted on the attacker to fraudulently identify him as a "refugee terrorist".
Many far-right leaders have gone as far as to suggest that the hundreds of thousands of Syrians seeking refuge in France are to blame for the horrific Paris attacks.
