Italian police have arrested 14 people including relatives of the victims for allegedly committing acts of sexual violence on four minors near this southern city, police said Thursday.
The mother of a boy and three girls was charged with organizing child prostitution after accepting money from occasional and regular clients who had sexual encounters with her children at Acerra near Naples.
Police said that the children's father, grandparents and other family members were also arrested.
The four children have been entrusted to a youth welfare organization.
The public prosecutor's office said the investigation into the case could involve more people, adding that "this tragic incident is in no way isolated." -- NAPLES, Italy (AFP)
