The Palestinian Authority will put any deal that may be reached at the Camp David summit to a referendum of Palestinians in the autonomous territories and those of the diaspora, information minister Yasser Abed Rabbo said in Ramallah Sunday.
Earlier, he said that the negotiating team will demand "international guarantees" at the summit in the form of a multinational or a UN-run force for the Palestinian territories.
"We don't trust the Israelis," Abed Rabbo told a news conference. "We demand an international monitoring and a supervising mechanism for any agreement, which could be either a UN presence or a multinational force," he added.
He said the Palestinians would refuse to sign a deal at Camp David if they do not get this international presence on the ground.
Abed Rabbo also said there would be a ten-member team making up the Palestinian delegation to the summit from Tuesday, and they will meet an Israeli delegation headed by Prime Minister Ehud Barak, under the auspices of US President Bill Clinton.
