A 14-year-old Palestinian boy brought to Saudi Arabia after being shot in the head on the West Bank in clashes with Israeli forces died on Thursday, a diplomat said.

Alaa Mohammad Mahfudh, who arrived in Riyadh in a coma on October 11, died at dawn in the capital's military hospital, a Palestinian diplomat said.

His body would be sent to Amman on Friday.

Mahfudh, from the Al-Arub refugee camp near Hebron, was one of 57 Palestinians flown to Riyadh aboard Saudi planes from El-Arish in Egypt and Amman.

His death, plus that of a suicide bomber killed in the Gaza Strip later Thursday, raised to 140 the number of deaths in the fighting between Israel and the Palestinians since September 28. The vast majority of the dead are Palestinians – RIYADH (AFP)
