The Palestinian parliament said Wednesday it would reject any peace agreement that did not accept the right of millions of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes, the legislative body said in a statement.
"Any political compromise that does not include the right of return is an invalid agreement and not abiding to the Palestinian people," the 87-member Palestinian Legislative Council said in a statement after a twice monthly meeting in the West Bank town of Ramallah.
Outside PLC headquarters, some 150 protesters from the opposition People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine called on Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to pull out of the Camp David peace summit with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and return to Intifada against Israel.
The fate of the more than 3.7 million Palestinians refugees registered with the UN relief agency set up on their behalf is one of the main issues dividing Israel and the Palestinians in reaching a peace accord - RAMALLAH (AFP)
