The body of a Palestinian teenager who died in hospital in Saudi Arabia was flown to Amman Sunday and put in an ambulance for transport to his home in the West Bank, diplomats and witnesses said.
Alaa Mohammad Mahfudh, 14, died Thursday in a Riyadh military hospital where he had been flown earlier this month in a coma after being shot in the head in clashes with Israeli troops.
His body was flown to Amman's Marka airport aboard a special Saudi plane which will fly to Riyadh Monday eight other Palestinians injured in the fighting, Palestinian diplomat Attalah Khairy told AFP.
Mahfudh, from the Al-Arub refugee camp near Hebron on the West Bank, was one of 57 Palestinians flown to Riyadh aboard Saudi planes from Amman and El-Arish in Egypt.
Around 145 people, mostly Palestinians and including many children, have been killed in the fighting between Israel and the Palestinians since September 28.
