Intelligence indicates al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is alive, Pakistan's president said Monday.

On a visit to The Hague in the Netherlands, Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf told reporters interrogations of captured al Qaeda activists and technological evidence indicate bin Laden is alive. "We have a lot of intelligence. Intelligence is human intelligence and evidence is technological intelligence and aerial surveillance. All this is combined to produce an intelligence picture," Musharraf said.

Bin Laden's whereabouts remained unknown, the Pakistani leader added.

Meanwhile, Lt. Gen. David Barno, commander of foreign forces in Afghanistan, told Reuters that top al Qaeda leaders, including bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, are likely to be in Pakistan than Afghanistan. (albawaba.com)
