The clashes are part of a growing confrontation that intensified on February 21 when Pakistani forces launched airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan.

ALBAWABA- Pakistani airstrikes reportedly struck a drug addiction treatment hospital in Kabul, killing and wounding several patients, according to Afghan media reports.

The facility, which was housing individuals undergoing treatment for drug dependency, was hit during a series of strikes attributed to the Pakistan military. The incident came as tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan escalated following Pakistani air operations targeting suspected militant positions inside Afghan territory.

Afghan officials and local reports said the strikes that followed March 13 hit residential areas and facilities in Kabul, as well as locations in Kandahar and other provinces, causing fires, structural damage and plumes of smoke visible across several districts.

Taliban authorities said at least four civilians were killed and 15 others injured, including women and children. Pakistan’s military confirmed it had carried out operations against what it described as militant hideouts linked to Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), stating the strikes were a response to cross-border attacks against Pakistani territory.

The clashes are part of a growing confrontation that intensified on February 21 when Pakistani forces launched airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan. Islamabad has repeatedly accused the Afghan Taliban of harbouring TTP fighters responsible for attacks inside Pakistan, allegations the Taliban deny.

Afghanistan has responded with drone strikes targeting Pakistani military sites, further raising fears of a wider confrontation between the neighbouring countries. Long-standing disputes over the Durand Line have also contributed to the escalation.

Meanwhile, China has called for restraint. Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged both sides to pursue dialogue and an immediate ceasefire, while Beijing said it remains in contact with all parties to encourage de-escalation.
