Palestinian President Yasser Arafat issued an order Wednesday to Palestinian security chiefs to close all institutions in the territories belonging to the Hamas and Islamic Jihad hardline resistance movements.
According to Abu Dhabi sattelite TV, all offices belonging to the two groups have been closed “permenantly.”
The decision comes after ten Israelis were killed and another 23 injured Wednesday in a resistance operation when Palestinian Hamas fighters bombed a bus near the West Bank settlement of Emmanuel. The attackers shot at fleeing passengers and rescue workers who came to help the wounded.
"The Palestinian Authority in an urgent meeting headed by Arafat has taken a decision that Palestinian security forces will immediately close down all Hamas and Islamic Jihad institutions, including education, health and political offices," an official statement said.
The PA also released an announcement condemning the Wednesday terror attacks on the settlers’ bus in the West Bank in which ten people were killed and two suicide bombings in the Gaza Strip in which four people were wounded – Albawaba.com
