ALBAWABA- Heavy rains have lashed the capital city of Yemen, Sana'a, blocking many roads. Since yesterday, numerous areas in the mountainous regions of Yemen have experienced heavy rains accompanied by lightning strikes.
The country is experiencing a wave of heavy rains, resulting in over 50 deaths and injuries, including women and children, due to lightning strikes, according to unofficial statistics.
In Hajjah Governorate, northwest Yemen, five people have died due to scattered lightning strikes over the past few days.
Local residents reported that Ali Mohammed Dahiqi Hazzaz and his daughter were killed by a lightning strike on Saturday evening in the village of Al-Hazahiz, west of Bani Qais in Aflah Al-Sham District.
In another incident, Ibrahim Hadi Rafiq died from a lightning strike in Nisa, in Al-Magharba District. Additionally, Sadiq Gawth’s daughter was killed by a lightning strike in the village of Al-Qaro, Bani Gawth, also in Aflah Al-Sham District.
Meanwhile, Yahya Ali Yusuf Hafidh’s daughter was struck and killed by lightning in the same district, just two days after Ahmed Hassan Al-Wadhaf died from a lightning strike in Kushar District, Hajjah Governorate.
