Opposition presidential candidate Seif Shariff Hamad on Sunday denounced a presidential poll in Tanzania's semi-autonomous twin island of Zanzibar, claiming many people will be denied their right to vote
Hamad, who had to wait more than five hours to cast his ballot because of procedural delays, told AFP that he had "very little faith" in the elections.
He said he would organize an emergency meeting of leaders of his Civic United Front (CUF) party later in the day.
The CUF is still convinced that the CCM rigged the results of the 1995 polls, which were criticized by several international election observer groups and led to a suspension of foreign aid to Zanzibar -- ZANZIBAR (AFP)
