Oman’s OTC Signs Three Agreements to Expand GSM Network

Oman’s Telecom Company (OTC) has signed three agreements to expand the GSM network in the Gulf state, reported the official Omani News Agency (ONA). 

Under the first agreement, Siemens will expand the GSM service in Dhofar Governorate, Sharqiyah, Dhakhiliyah and Dhahirah regions, said ONA. 

The project is due to complete within 12 months.  

The second agreement provided for the installation of 20 GSM stations and setting up two telephone switch boards at the Bousher and Sadirat areas. 

The third agreement, which was signed with the National Telephone Services Company included the set up of an external network at al-Ghubrah in addition to linking ald lines to this network which will also be linked with Ghala and Medinat Al Nadhah switch boards through fiber optic conductors. 

The signing of these agreements came as part of the Ministry’s efforts to meet the growing demand for telecommunications services due to the continued architectural developments, ONA said -- Albawaba.com
