The price of oil opened Tuesday below 30 dollars a barrel at the lowest level for almost four months, amid expectations that Iraq would soon scrap an export freeze and start pumping crude again.

The price of barrel of Brent North Sea reference crude for January delivery opened at 29.45 dollars a barrel, a level last seen on August 8.

The oil price had closed on Monday at 29.34 dollars, as the market began to factor in the probability that Iraq would reverse its decision last week to shut its export taps amid a dispute with the United Nations over payment and pricing – LONDON (AFP)
