Russia's ageing Mir space station, which has been in orbit for 14 years, will be destroyed on February 27-28 next year, Russian space agency chief, Yury Koptev announced Thursday.
In keeping with the troubled history of the 14-year-old orbiter, the announcement led to confusion, coming only minutes after the agency's top spokesman Sergei Gorbunov said safety concerns had forced the decision to be delayed – MOSCOW (AFP)
