Following the Professional Squash Association’s (PSA) announcement of the launch of the squash tournament, which will take place from 11 to 15 May 2010 at Al-Hassan International Squash Center in the Sports City in Amman, Novartis, the leading pharmaceutical company, affirmed its sponsorship of this event, as part of its support to the local community through supporting such sportive and interactive events.
Recently, PSA announced the new 12 entries to the draw which determines the players of Novartis Squash Open, and the entries covering different nationalities and countries, such as Egypt, Iran, France, Pakistan, Japan, Slovenia and Jordan, in addition to 4 winners from the qualification round. The 16 candidates will compete in the squash game to win US Dollar 3000 onsite prize money, as well as PSA ranking points.

On his part, the President of the Jordan Squash Federation, Dr. Ramzi Tabbalat, said: “The 4 day squash tournament is an athletic event that gathers players from different nationalities and backgrounds under the umbrella of honest competition and team spirit. This tournament is expected to gain strong popularity among the participating athletes and sports enthusiasts alike. We hope to provide the participants and the audience a quality time that combines solid sportsmanship and entertainment, and that is why we are optimistic about the success of this event”.
Gathering PSA and world-class players in Amman will not only reignite enthusiasm for the squash sport, but it will also help increase this game lovers and players in the Country. It is worth noting that Mohammad Mheisen from Jordan was guaranteed a place in the main draw as a wildcard, in addition to Ahmad Al Zbeidi and Ahmad Al-Saraj, two other Jordanian PSA members, who will play in the qualification round.
